Willard Stevens

Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst announces the funeral service for Willard Stevens, age 82, who passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia.

Mr. Stevens was born in Coffee County, Georgia.  He was the son of the late Desso and Mag Stevens.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Martie Stevens and a sister: Judy Stevens.

Mr. Stevens was the owner/operator of Dairy Queen and Otasco for 20 years.  He worked for several decades at NAPA as well.  He loved Nascar, watching sports, fishing, the outdoors, and reading.  He was a quiet man but loved telling stories.

Survivors include son: Jimmy Stevens; daughter: Teresa (James) Hand; brother: Glynn  (Dawn)Stevens; grandchildren: April (Derrick) Zipperer, Justin (Matthew Pulliam) Hand, Kirk (Angie) Stevens; great-grandchildren: Layla, Koleman, and Kylar Zipperer, Bethany, and James Stevens.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the Chapel of Wainright and Parlor Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.in the Chapel of Wainright and Parlor Funeral Home,  Bro. Jimmie Ryles will officiate.  The interment will follow in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
