Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Britton, 73, of Hazlehurst, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 with her husband of (56) years Walter and her eldest daughter Angie by her side. She was born October 16, 1946 Jaqueline Ann Childs to parents Jack and Cleo Childs in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jackie and Walter were High School sweethearts who married in June of 1964 at which time Jackie settled into motherhood raising their (3) children (2 girls and a boy) in Delray Beach, Florida. In September of 1983 Jackie and Walter made the move from Florida to Lilburn, Georgia. In August of 1985, Jackie now (36) years old, decided to go back to school and she took the GED and was awarded her High School Diploma in September of that same year from Gwinnett Area Tech in Lawrenceville, Georgia. With her High School Diploma in hand, Jackie immediately enrolled herself at DeKalb Community College in Clarkston, Georgia in their Honors Program “night school” while still taking care of her family and working part-time, with her studies geared towards getting a Degree in the Nursing field. Jackie graduated in 1988 from Gwinnett Area Tech in Lawrenceville, Georgia with her Degree in “Licensed Practical Nursing”. Jackie then obtained her LPN License and went to work as a Charge Nurse at Snellville Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Snellville, Georgia where she remained until September of 1998 at which time she and Walter purchased Jackie’s Grannie’s (Emma Bell Ellis) farm home in Hazlehurst, Georgia that Jackie loved so dearly because this is where she spent so many of her childhood years wrapped in her Grannie’s LOVE. The things that made Jackie HAPPIEST were her FAMILY, being with FAMILY at Thanksgiving time, living at “The Old Family Farm” and writing her poetry.
