Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst announces the funeral service for Verda Edith Smith, age 88, of Hazlehurst, who passed away Thursday, June 07, 2018. Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Elizabeth Baptist Church 51 Elizabeth Church Road Hazlehurst, Georgia 31539.
Rev. Keith Yawn will officiate with burial in the Bridgeford Church of God Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Ehron, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Jasper Rowland Sanders & Elsie Irene Heaton Sanders. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a grandson: Sean Ashley Smith. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: Husband: Robert Futch Smith of Hazlehurst; Daughter: Charlotte Irene Giles of Stone Mountain; Son: Robert David Smith of Yuma, Arizona; Sisters: Jean Pitts of Florida & Judy Morris of Helen; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews also survive.
